Overview |
Visit Frigiliana - one of the most beautiful
villages in Spain. It is situated about 6
km from Nerja and 56 km from Malaga. This
beautiful village stands 435 metres above
sea level and offers spectacular views of
the magnificent mountains of Sierra Almijara,
as well as Nerja town and Mediterranean coast. |
The old part of town has a Moorish origin.
It's represented by some ceramic mosaics around
the village. The new part is a traditional
white Andalucian village. |
In the centre
of the town you can find 16th century mansion
- the only molasses factory in existence in
Europe that produces syrup made from sugar
cane ("miel de cana"). It was built in renaissance
style by the Manrique de Lara family, Lords
of Frigiliana, and has an area of 2000 sq
m.
You can buy molasses, as well as famous
original wine and olive oil in local shops.
